It is said that St. Paul’s Cathedral is a largest church in Kolkata. It is one of the major attractions of Kolkata. This was the first church that was built during the British Empire. The design of this cathedral church was “Indo-Gothic” architectural which was built keeping in mind the climate of India.
This church has suffered about 2 Earthquakes, now the church which is there has been reconstructed.
The cathedral church complex has a library, which is located on the west porch. Here you will find a display of plastic art forms and memorabilia.
The best ceremony in the cathedral church is held at the time of Christmas. At Christmas time, the surrounding areas are decorated with lights and some art that depicts the story of the god Jesus.
It is surrounded by a very well-maintained garden with over 184,700 species of trees planted so far.
